Thanksgiving on a Lake

We headed up to Lake Winnipesaukee for Thanksgiving, to spend it with my Ryan's and Karla's families. We are always so grateful to Dave and Karla for opening up their awesome Lake House to us. 

We had a blast! One of the most memorable Thanksgiving weekends.

The best part: a house that comfortably fits everyone and nothing pressing for any of us. So nice to get away from the rig-a-ma-roll of life and we always have such a blast with this group.

Our weekend started out with each couples morning runs (can't ask for anything better than a run with my hubs). Then we feasted:

Well actually a lot happened before the feast.

The kids made the name tags and "party favors"

It was a delicious craft

We had all the men the in kitchen...so fabulous!

Ryan helped bake the rolls, mash the potatoes, dress the turkey, and made Lor's famous pecan torte.

Dave made our new favorite Brie appetizer, the gravy, and delicious brussel sprouts.

Doug is the turkey master. He even pulled out some sterile sutures to sew up the turkey's rear.  Doug peeled the potatoes, helped me with the stuffing, and a couple pies. Not to mention, he was our clean-up guy along the way, which is so important throughout the day.

The kids did a great job with the table. And look at how beautiful this setting is. As we were sitting down for dinner, the sun was setting over the Lake, gorgeous!

This girl is finally keeping something in her hair for a few hours at a time. So cute... I just want to eat her up.

Then we decided it was the perfect time for a cheesy photo 

We just may have hid some of the pies from the kids so they wouldn't take the good ones. 

Aubrie led the kids in a pageant. She was the narrator and did a fabulous job.

 We played three different soccer games. The competitor came out of all of us, except Doug of course...he was just there to have fun. This was SO. FUN.

We explored the new tree house. Intense! 

I always love "adult time" after kids are in bed. We played around the world ping-pong, Extreme Uno, talked, watched movies, shellacked our nails, football, etc.

Saturday, Wolfboro had the cutest Christmas parade, it was very short and sweet. Followed by caroling in front of the Christmas Tree where Santa counted down to the lighting of the tree. It was such a fun experience in small town America.
