We found CANDYLAND!

As children, my siblings and I would tell each-other stories [fantasize/ lie] about going to Candyland. From personal experience, it is all that you would expect it to be. Naturally I wanted to tell my girls about Candyland (so I don't really tell them I've been there). These stories have become frequent requests at bedtime. And even when Aunt Karla and Erika visit, they've put in requests for Candyland stories.

Doug made the mistake of telling the girls that the Candyland store was in NYC- Dylan's Candy Shop. That's a detail kids don't forget. So when Doug was asked to go up to NYC for some work, we decided to take the whole family and make a stop at the said store. The girls both brought some of their allowance money.
Walking in was just like Christmas day for these girls. We spent a decent amount of time browsing through all the candies and novelties. And watched them carefully select the perfect candy.
Experiences like this are so much fun for me, its a good reminder to enjoy life to its fullest, to be more excited about daily happenings.

Some of our NYC friends joined us, Darby was great help finding prices and helping the girls figure out what they can afford. We miss these girls.
While Doug was working, the girls and I parked in our old hood, and took the train into Central Park and FAO Shwartz. It was sad to me how novel the train was to them...they hardly remember anything, NYC is such a huge part of our lives!
28th street, our last apartment in Astoria. Leah remembered this street.
They were in heaven in the dress-up section. Too bad the dresses start around $60

We walked down this sidewalk so many times...miss it!

Later, the Glass's had us over for dinner with the Webbs.

How are we both blinking at the same time?

Love that Webb family! Koos and I don't look so great, should've taken more, but at least Kelly's lookin good!
