First snow

We pray for rain and snow daily around here. The drought has gotten pretty bad in our area. So with an early snow in the forecast we were pretty stoked. And snow it did. So much that we even got a delayed school start. The only problem is that leaves were still on the tress so there were a lot of broken branches and limbs, luckily we noticed our tree out front and Doug shook it out a couple times.
The first snow is just so fun, and this was Brigham's first time playing in it. He got out there and acted like a pro. He loved jumping and plopping himself down with a soft landing. Eating the show somehow came very natural to him as well.
Leah and Paige stayed outside for two hours that first morning. The poor girls built a snowman and just as they were searching for the finishing touches, sticks for the arms, Brigham plowed into it- knocking it down.

The snow with fall colors on the trees is so beautiful. I went for an early morning run and was headed up to the ditch trail so as to get a good view of the valley. I was feeling a bit euphoric about the morning but on my way up the hill I suddenly felt very eerie and uneasy. I looked around and found some fresh cougar prints. I have an unrealistic fear of Mt. Lions so I decided to sprint out of there...dang cats!
