An Arizona Christmas

As I mentioned, being within a days drive means you don't always have a great excuse to miss spending Holidays with family. Not that we needed an excuse not to go. It turns out that we picked up some bug when we passed through Vegas. Leah and Doug both got it pretty bad. Doug was sick almost the entire break. He would feel good and then get hit again. Such a bummer to be sick over your only break. Leah started feeling a lot better Christmas Eve but was so sick she had to miss going to the Nutcracker Ballet with Grandma and all the girls. It was so sad to leave her crying at home. But, in the end, we still had a great time.
We split our time between the Sullivan's and the Hatch's

Some highlights before Christmas were:
  • The train park, riding the "polar express" and seeing the model trains
  • Walking around the most decorated neighborhood I've ever seen
  • Random acts of service with all the little cousins
  • Getting together with the Slater Family
  • Sunday dinner at the Sullivans
  • Nutcracker ballet with Grandma, Grandpa and all the girls
  • Forgotten carols with all the adults (Doug was too sick to go...poor guy)
  • Christmas Eve dinner at the Hatchs
  • Christmas morning at the Hatchs
  • Skyping with Lizzie on her mission
  • Highschool friends reunion at the Lewis'
  • Schnef farms
And here is the vacation in pictures, in no particular order.
Train park

The Model trains were a big hit

One of the houses on the most decorated court. Every house was decked out.

Grandma and Grandpa took the three youngest kids on a date, Syd still talks about it.

Grandpa didn't enjoy the carseat situation with three toddlers.

Lilly, Grandma, and Paige just before the Nutcracker...these girls were in heaven!

We even got to see the Huish family and made it to Gene's baptism!

The kids got Jay out of bed but he fell asleep on his way downstairs.

Santa left footprints!
