After returning home from AZ and our Christmas break, we still had an additional week and a half off school. Our school district started a semi-year-round schedule so we got three weeks off for Christmas break. I didn't know how I'd like it but it turns out it was awesome. After being gone for a week (and most of the family being sick), it was nice to lay low, enjoy one another, and be kind of lazy. I enjoyed letting go of the daily routine that having school-aged children brings.
On New Year's Eve, we went to Coconut bowl with the Jorgensen's. The girls loved the lazor tag maze. We went to play mini-golf on the indoor course but it turns out all three girls were terrified of the black-light pirate theme. The weather was so nice that we even tried out the race cars.
I think Doug loved it the most. Leah and Paige were undecided, it did't help that there was a group of teenagers who kept bumping into their cars.

Syd was pretty fun to watch along side Doug

This was Paige's first year to join the Jensen's tradition of shop-till-you drop. We started with the traditional Target & Walmart stops for the Christmas clearance. I think it is safe to say, they were pooped by early afternoon. I have full confidence that in a few years, they'll be able to hang with Mom all day.

With all our extra time, we decided to check out the Discovery museum. And of course we now have annual passes, which we always get so much use out of.

And for the first time in the Doxey family, we have signed up for something! Both Leah and Paige started their first gymnastics class the second week of January. We did a trial class at the bigger/nicer gymnasium and I quickly felt that the $20 extra was worth it. These girls are stoked and now the world is their gymnasium.
