Yesterday was Doug's first day as an official resident. He logged three cases on his first day. His program seems to be awesome and they just let you get right into procedures. He came home and told me he "played surgeon," I had to remind him that he really was the surgeon. I'm so proud of Doug and love listening to him talk about what he gets to do at work but I really miss having him home, we've been spoiled the last month. He's on call this weekend- hopefully he's not too busy for the holiday!
He hates that I took this picture but I told myself to be better at capturing memories.
The girls got used to Doug being home so they get really sad when he's not here in the morning. We decided to give Dad an idea of what they looked like when they woke up since he missed it. Paige even had me trace her arms the same way she sleeps- cutie pie.
And this is my saving grace. I got this idea from my sister-in-law Heidi and it helps both me and the girls so much. Leah is always hungry and now I can just tell her to wait until snack/lunch time or whatever. Plus it's helpful for me to stay more involved with the kids. Some day's they help pick out the events for the day and that's proven to be quite empowering for them. Thanks for the idea Heidi!

Oh my gosh those pitures of them are priceless, they are so so cute. Where did you get paper that big? How does your card thing work?
I am interested in those cards too! That seems like that would really help me out. Melanie just is hoping from one thing to the next. I cant keep up with her!
love the life size drawings. And congrats to Doug!
Amber, you are such a good mom. I love seeing glimpses into your life! Good job Doug!!
You just inspired me to get back on track. We pulled the cards out and we're trying to get back into a groove. Summer is hard!! Your girls are so cute - the posters are adorable. I loved the arms behind Paige's head!! Good luck on the baby - I forget sometimes that you are pregnant.
