We're surrounded by farms here in Vineland so I've been getting this bug to can and take advantage of the great produce around here. The problem is I've never done anything close to canning before. So I decided to start with the easiest thing- freezer jam. Luckily it was a success and Leah loved helping, she was official tester. Next up is freezer corn and then salsa, apparently New Jersey has awesome tomatoes.

I just love this girl. This is her favorite hair style- it's a struggle doing her hair and keeping it in longer than half a day.

We had our first visitors, Natasha and Heidi came down from NYC with their kids. They drove longer than they stayed but we loved every second they were here. Leah and Paige haven't stopped pretending that their friends were here ever since. I think I talked their ears off, seeing as I don't have very many conversations with adults lately (so far the local librarians are my closest friends here).

We see lots of wildlife out back. I think they were looking for Larry, the name given to the turtle we've spotted a couple of times. I love this picture.

Leah is finally learning how to ride a bike, now that we have somewhere to do it. Slow-going but she's coming along.

And now for my feelings at 37 weeks:
  • I hate humidity. Even when I'm not pregnant I don't like it but right now I really hate it.
  • I miss family.
  • I'm so glad Leah and Paige are such good friends and play so well together.
  • I'm really looking forward to: running (but not in this humidity), sleeping (I know I'll be up feeding a lot but I'm sure I'll get more sleep than I'm getting now), and cradling this little one in my arms.
  • I'm so glad there's more than 16 months between Paige and #3.
  • I can't wait to watch Leah and Paige dote on their baby sister.
  • Again, I miss family- this is probably a mixture pregnancy and moving blues, and may have something to do with the fact that my family is at Lake Powell this week.
  • Why is it so difficult to like/agree on any names.
  • I'm elated Doug will be in his ER rotation for the month of August (total sarcasm).
  • Bring on the yucky yellow blow-outs etc b/c we've got a washer & dryer!
So I really am excited about #3 and I am very ready for her to join our family. Hopefully I won't have to go a week over and be induced again but odds are that will happen. Oh well.

We had SO much fun coming for a visit and seeing you all settled! Gavin has NOT stopped talking about Leah, and wants to go to her house every day. He has to settle for phone calls.

YEA for freezer jam! It's my favorite!

Ok, so #1. That 2nd pic of Leah is a CLONE of Liz! holy cow
#2. Funny, you don't think about things like not being able to teach your kids to ride a bike in NYC, although I'm sure you thought about it plenty.
3 weeks left! So close. can't wait to see her and what she ends up being named!

Amber! It was fun reading some of your blog and catching up on how the Doxy's are doing. I did not realize that you were going to be in open country. I heard New Jersey and just thought it would be more high rise apartments and fewer commercial buildings. It sounds wonderful. I want to come and visit!
