We are now residents of Vineland, NJ! CRAZY!
We finally got our internet up and running and I'm so happy to be connected again. I've been a mess trying to figure out how to do things without it. I was trying to look up doctors and started crying b/c I didn't know what to do. Thank goodness I hadn't thrown away the phone book they delivered to us- I hadn't looked in one of those in a long time. Anyway, we're LOVING the space in our new home, not looking for a parking spot, walking out our back door to grass, doing laundry, dishes, and much more. The day we got here, Leah laid down 0n the grass (because it felt good) and said, "Mom, look the clouds move in New Jersey!" I loved it! They do miss their friends but are having a blast together in their cute bedroom and playroom.
(here's a short recap of the last month)
My Mom stayed a week after graduation so that Doug and I could take a break before starting residency and having the baby. We went to Newport, RI and visited all the mansions. It was so relaxing, fun, and nauseating to see the wealth people had during the Guilded age. This particular mansion only has 70 rooms and @130,000 square feet. It was beautiful.
My mom was so brave, she took the girls into Central Park on the subway by herself. I was so worried when I found out. We got home before them and didn't have keys so I walked to the train to meet them and was able to snap this priceless photo before they saw me. Thanks again for the brake Mom! The girls talk about it all the time.
We took one last family adventure into the city before we left and decided to be ultimate tourists by hitting up Times Square and letting the girls ride the ferris wheel in Toys R Us.
We left our home on 28th street on an extremely hot and humid day.
Farewell NYC.
We arrived in NJ on that same hot and humid day but were greeted with Central Air, a first in our marriage and it couldn't have come at a better time. It's extremely humid here, that combined with being prego has been torture.
When we got to our home, the girls were running around screaming saying "Look at this," etc. They love the stand-up shower in our bathroom, Leah informed us that "when she's big and turns five years old, she can take a shower in that one all by herself."

Congrats on making it to a home with central air. And congrats on making the move. Can't wait to see more pics of your place!
oh my goodness look at that kitchen!!! YEAH! You will LOVE doing dishes for about a year and then the excitement will wane, but I think a little part of you will always be SO appreciative of the conveniences of life. Really that's the beauty of having gone through the difficulties of life in Queens. Congrats girl, you have arrived! Good luck with the doc. and getting settled. Can't wait to hear about the new little one. Hope we get to visit soon!
i love so many things about this post. I love that picture of your mom with the girls. I was talking to her that day and she seemed so excited--and yes, I was impressed. I love your house. You forgot the story about Leah in the parking lot of Walmart asking what those bright things up in the sky are. i tell everyone that story. I really feel so excited everytime I think about your dishwasher, washer/dryer and lawn...and jealous about the A/C... :) love it!!!
CENTRAL AIR??? That's the reason to move to NJ! I am so glad you are connected now. We miss you guys so much! Can't wait to come for a visit!
Oh come on more pics of the house!! It looks so beautiful there!
Congrats... The girls are so cute. We really missed your guys in Utah. Hope you get more pics up of the girls room and stuff. How fun - and yeah for AC. Good luck with everything.
How great that you guys are moved in to such a nice place with GRASS and a washer and dryer!! (im jealous!) I'm sure the girls are just loving it! How exciting that Doug is already doing hammertoes by himself!! Its funny- i think they still think of themselves as students- we have to keep reminding them that they are DOCTORS!! The hard stuff is over! ;) Did you find a Dr. yet? I can't even think about it- no luck over here. You would die if you heard the converstaion I had with the nurse from the hospital closest to us... i had to take a break after that. Looks like you guys had a great time with your time off. Good luck out there and keep us updated on everything. Tell the girls hi and Doug to keep up the good work! xx
YAY! The new house look beautiful!
