I went in for one of my monthly pregnancy visits this past week, it turned out to be a rather unique one. First of all, as I'm filling out some paper work (which I apparently have to fill out at EVERY SINGLE VISIT), I think I hear my name but look up and don't see a nurse so I just ignore it. Then I hear it again so I walk to the desk and find out that the nurse is calling me from the exam room I'm to see the doctor in; I hurry and gather my stuff and Leah and go back to an impatient nurse.
As I step on the scale she asks "So you want to be tested for STD's?" I get a weird look on my face so she adds "...or do you need an annual check-up?" I tell her that I'm there for a pregnancy check-up. As the nurse looks from my face to my belly to Leah she says, "You want a pregnancy test, to see if you're pregnant?" At this point I'm thinking, "lady you obviously didn't even look at your charts" but I kindly reply "no, I AM pregnant and I've seen the doctor before, I'm just here for my monthly visit." She continues to look from me to Leah and says and with a you-are-crazy tone of voice, "You are...how many weeks are you?"
Anyway to many people out here, I'm crazy, well I am crazy but I thought it was funny. The rest of the appointment went great, we weren't able to find out the gender b/c the baby wasn't positioned correctly but we'll find out next time!
