September started with a bang. Leah's baptism and Brigham's blessing brought family in town with is just so fun! My parents were able to come for a full week- which is a rare treat for my Dad. We loved having them here, introducing them to Lake Tahoe and Reno and just spending quality time together. I love watching my girls interact with and learn from Grandma and Grandpa.
We drove the Mt. Rose to Truckee loop with them, with a stop in Tahoe City for some delicious burgers. I love Lake Tahoe and love taking people there, everyone is always in awe at its beauty.
Grandpa spent some good time with the girls outside on bikes, timing them in races, playing on the playground. Good times.
Grammie Gibson flew out for the festivities Friday night. Leah's baptism day was a full one, we woke up bright and early to catch dawn patrol at Reno's balloon races, hurried off to Paige's soccer game, then went home to get refreshments ready and head off to the baptism.
Reno Balloon races. I was so excited this could be a part of our weekend. Our guests were skeptical at first as to why we'd want to wake up so early to go. Here's why:
Then, I told them we needed to cross the lake and find sit in the big field. Again, they were skeptical and said we had the perfect view away from the crowds. I told them to just believe me, it's worth it.
Once the balloons started filling, they got it. And they all loved it. The air balloon races are one of my favorite things about Reno.
Brigham blew out of his Blessing garb, as I was changing him in the mother's lounge, he was hammin it up. I love this cutie!
Grammie had to leave early Monday morning, but my parents stayed a few more days. Having them at my house with no agenda but regular life is so fun for me. First, because they are great helpers, second, because I love that they get a sneak peak into our daily lives.
Dad made his curry one night.
Grandma and Paige made cinnamon rolls.
Grandma gave piano lessons. She seriously teaches my kids more in one week than I do in a year, she is the BEST piano teacher.
And then Wednesday, we got to go to the Reno Air Races. Another highlight. It was so exciting and educating to be there with my dad, who knew everything about every plane.
It's always so sad to see visitors go, especially Mom and Dad. But it was the perfect visit.
The rest of our month went in a somewhat ordinary fashion.

| Love this guy and his big thighs! |
Its always fun to visit Dad at work, we had to make a stop after work hours one day, and the girls got right to some make-believe play. They even asked Sydney what her pain scale was- it was an 8.

And we ended the month off with a trip to Del Mar. Doug, Brigham, and I. We went with the Ford's for a podiatry conference. It was such a great break. We stayed in a condo right on the beach. Went out to eat at so many wonderful restaurants and enjoyed time together. The only down-side was my ear kind of popped as we landed and it was so painful I couldn't sleep the first night. It hurt and was clogged the rest of the trip.
