Syd's Purse

After watching her sisters go to gymnastics for almost a year, we finally signed Sydney up for her own class. She was so very excited (and in my haste, I just didn't even get a picture!), I loved watching her execute all the tasks to the best of her abilities with the occasional wave to me. This kid is just so fun.

At their gym, there's quite the display of all the leotards for sale. They are so pricey but the girls have to say each week which one they would choose.  Well, a couple weeks after Syd started, she got frustrated as we were walking out he door and said, "No, mom...I'm buying my leetard today!"
Whenever my kids ask for something at the store, my reply is always, "Well, did you bring your money?" Or if its pricey, I ask if they have enough money. I guess Sydney has caught on to this because to my surprise, she pulled out her little purse and said, "I DID bring my money Mom and I want this one!" She pointed to a leotard that was $33. I opened up her purse and told her how much money she had and how much more she needed for that leotard. She looked frustrated at first and then just kept on walking.

As I was driving home, I wondered if I should have just paid the difference for her or if that would have been spoiling her. But really, I just thought it was so darling that she had thought in advance, anticipating my reply, and brought her money. Maybe I missed an opportunity to reward her for thinking smart, I don't know but either way, it was just too cute!
