We held our first friends' party yesterday. Leah begged for a Candyland party, which turned out pretty easy and cute! I think it was a great success and was surprisingly enjoyable.
Lollipop Lane. These turned out adorable!
Gum drop alley.
Leah was so excited to pick out party plates. The the lollipop pinata was her idea, very cute.
We decorated gingerbread men. Sydney dumped then licked and then dumped some more.
We decorated bags to put their candy in. All the kids were very creative! See Tara there- the party ran smoothly because she was there.
All the kids on their candyland square
Doug did an awesome job painting faces, they all got some candy theme and then another fun one.
We decided Doug was very brave to hold the pinata that close to the stick.
I love when everyone sings Happy Birthday. The look on the birthday kids' face in priceless.
We took pictures with each of Leah's friend, this will be the 'Thank You' to each friend.

Such a fun idea. I love all the fun details. I have to say my favorite part though is the picture in a frame for the thank you cards. I may have to use some of these ideas. I fear birthday parties because so often we go to parties that are over the top and I feel dumb when our present cost less than the good bag they give my child!! Oh well. My boys both get friend parties this year. If I can get my act together maybe even Natalie can have one too. Living away from family makes friends parties seem more necessary. Thanks for sharing all the fun ideas.
You are the best! Fun idea. I'm sure Leah was in heaven. Cannot wait to see you all
