Leah loved her first day. She got in the car with a huge smile on her face and said, "that was fun!" Later she asked, "do I have to go tomorrow? It was long." Today went better for me as far as dropping her off. On the home front, it's been difficult. Two screaming kids all day. I wish I knew what was going on.
So I went to pick up Leah and had to wake up two finally sleeping kiddos (never pleasant to wake up Paige). We waited in the car line w/ baby crying for 20 minutes. When I drove up to the pick up, I told the lady her name and waited. I was asked to move forward, and I waited more. Then they came and told me she was on the bus. I had emailed her teacher that I would be driving but I guess it didn't go through. I began to panic. I took off and drove to the two possible bus stops and all through my complex. No Leah. So I drove back to the school and waited another 40 minutes until they finally located her, still on the bus. Yes, I cried today too.
The bus driver brought her back to the school and Leah was in better spirits than I was. Once we got in the car and following a few squeezes, I was asking her questions and she said, "Mom, I just don't want you to ask me any more questions." She was wasted. As I was waiting in the front office, her teacher told me at one point Leah came up to her and said, "teacher, I'm ready to go home now." Apparently, she had two hours to go. Poor girl.
So here's another complaint from me, sorry. How pathetic is it that the school is literally next to our complex and they even have a bus for her? The problem. NO SIDEWALKS!!!! Hate that about this place. I would be walking/biking her every day but there isn't even a side walk the short 500 yards between our complex and her school and its a very busy road. Can't win um all!

Amber, I HATED this story. I hated thinking of little Leah all alone on the bus, and I can't even imagine how you must have felt. That is my worst nightmare. I'm so glad everything turned out okay. And I can't believe a bus is required when you live so close to school.
Like I said, I'm so glad all is well.
