Leah did not. She woke up at 4:30 and then again around 5:30 and finally got out of bed with Doug at 6:30. She was so excited to go to school today. Too excited. She did have a very difficult time waiting until 9am. I loved packing her lunch together, she told me the order she would be eating her lunch- all the healthy stuff first. I told her I would give her a treat every Friday but today since it was the first day of school, I added a chocolate chip cookie. She was ecstatic and announced, "I'm LUCKY!" She was so good with the morning routine, happy to make her bed and brush her teeth (we didn't even squeeze in piano practice on the first day of school).
Dropping her off was a bit more difficult than I expected. I was really disappointed that they don't let the parents walk them to their classrooms. Even the first day. I walked her to the front door and had to pass her off to someone neither she nor I knew. I watched her walk down the hall and round the corner. Then I cried. I wish so bad that I had placed a video camera on her, a live camera that is. I'm so excited to hear the report.

Laying out our clothes for the first time.
*Oh, and have I mentioned how frustrating it is that kindergarten is all day.

i can't believe you have a kindergartener. congratulations on this big day for you!
I cried the first day and can't stop crying! We need to sympathize with each other! I think I'm taking Gene out of full day. I hate it. Love and miss you!

She is ADORABLE!!!! I just wish we were in the same place so Gavin and Leah could walk into school together, holding hands of course! I know you don't like it, but what I wouldn't give for full day Kindergarten!
Miss you guys!
Oh Amber!! I feel for you! It pretty much stinks that we have to send them off to school. I was exactly the same- I dropped josh off, and left him in the lunch room (he was the only white kid) in Virginia, then sat outside for 20 minutes, peeking through the window crying. And now look where we are-- He's a sophomore! Time flies!! I can't believe Leah is in Kindergarten--she looks so grown up!!!! I hope she came home super happy and loved her first day! Can't wait for the update.
My Leah has the same shirt. And she wore it today. So sorry they wouldn't even let you walk her in to her class! I'm sure it'll get easier each day. This new morning school schedule is killing me!
That first day is amazing with all of the emotions. O don't expect to miss them, nut you love watching them grow up, but itw painful too. Just too much going on. Then you get used to it. They love it. They bring home crazy things which makes you hate it. But then some days you love it again. Life is so funny like that. That's why you just do your best to enjoy what comes. I just wish that wasn't so hard too.
