The other day I found myself thinking that I should just call child protective services and turn myself in. For two reasons:
1. Maybe someone would have an answer for me about how to deal with numero dos when she throws her fits.
2. I'd really love to be locked up somewhere so I could actually think and not have to hold Sydney. Sadly, Syd would be screaming the entire time b/c she will not go to anyone else and I think they would quickly send me home with my children.
Terrible thoughts huh? Sadly again, I thought them for a long time (I'm not calling out for help- this is reality, right?).
Then, I started thinking how much I miss Leah now that she's gone for EIGHT hours a day. It's hard for me. My once-energetic girl comes home wasted. She's not very kind to her sister or to me anymore and I'm slowly watching the life being sucked out of her, is this good?
Well anyway, I'm realizing that I need to value the short time I have with my little girls before they're energy is sucked out of them.
And it has gotten better.
Today, I couldn't get anything done b/c Syd cried a lot. So I held her. A lot. During Syd's nap, Paige chose to watch a movie with me, and I got to hold her too. Then I put the gate up and we all hung out in the playroom. Paige "did my makeup and hair."
I didn't enjoy every second of my day, I didn't get much done at all. But it was better, and here's to a better tomorrow.
This is what Paige drew for me. It's the singing lady in primary, and that's her singing loud.
This girl is smart and has such a creative mind.
We're doing a lot of these two things.
I frequently bike Leah to school, she hold's Sydney on her lap, then I go on a good ride with the girls. So happy to have my bike and trailer back. I love the looks I get when I drop off Leah. I don't think this has ever happened at their school.

Amber, I always love your blog. It's so refreshing and real. It always makes me feel better that a mom out there has struggles like I do. Love you for it. Why do kids have to be so HARD? Obviously there is nothing we'd rather be doing yada, yada, yada, but honestly, they can be challenging. I'm about ready to be locked up myself. Then maybe someone else can clean up all of Annie's poop. I can't handle it!
Okay, love you!
