What we's be doin...

My in-laws tipped me off to a magical website called blog2print. It seriously took 5 clicks to get print one year off my blog. We just received our second book and it is so much fun to read and way faster than blurb book. It doesn't look as nice but I don't have all the time in the world to design each page from the past four years of blog posts, so these books are great!

I have been struggling (what's new huh?) with being a happy mom and wife lately. I'm sick of the ruts and the cycle that seems to take place. Although, I'm fully aware that life is about getting ourselves out of the ruts and being happy with where we are in our lives. It seems like every time this happens, I recommit to a gratitude journal. It really helps me feel more love for my kids. Here are the things I was grateful for yesterday:
  • The entire family took a nap! Seriously so awesome, especially sleeping next to Doug.
  • Leah and Paige were so good during sacrament meeting. Doug had to work this past weekend so church can get challenging if he's not there- yesterday went great!
  • A family walk- I dig spring here in Vineland. We seem to be far enough South to get a longer interlude to spring. It's been in 50's for a couple of weeks.
  • Paige slept in her bed the whole night. I went in when she had a night terror and helped her get back to sleep and she stayed! This is a victory!
  • Sydney woke up from her nap ready to play, all smiles and just the cutest laugh.
  • Leah took Sydney in the play room and played with her so that we could finish our nap. Leah is an excellent big sister!
  • Sydney is scooting around now and when I come in the room, she'll scoot her way right over to me. She is such a mama's girl. It makes me so happy.
  • Doug and I talked late into the night. He is the greatest husband and friend.
I seriously need someone to follow me around and point out all the little things I easily overlook because I really am so blessed.

The Sidster is crawling!!!! Reading all those blessings made me think, "Amber sure has a great life." Thanks for the reminder. I feel like each of us can stop and realize the same thing! Can't wait to see you!

Oh Amber, I always chuckle a little when you mention being a grumpy/bad mom/wife. You're crazy. Amber, I think it's impossible for you to be anything short of an amazing mom/wife, and I'm sure Doug and the girls would agree. I mean, you are someone I look up to cuz you are such a good person in all aspects of life.
That being said, I love your gratitude journal, I need to start mine back up. Hooray for Paige sleeping in her bed all night and for the family nap! And talkin to the hubs late at night. Some of my favorite things.
The End.

You are an amazing wife/mother. You are an inspiration to me. I can barely handle ONE! Honestly though, I have been feeling the SAME WAY lately and it's so hard. I hope we both start feeling better soon, because we are both pretty awesome :)

I love reading your blog posts, because I share some of the same feelings being a mom. It is always hard, but there are always good things and it seems like your day was awesome. And a family nap!?! Heavenly.

Thanks for this post. I needed it. I am totally in a rut too. I'm going to try harder to focus on the positives!
