I'm crying right now

because I'm so tired. I look at the dinner dishes, the mess in the front hall due to collapsed shelving, and the laundry. Then I look at my bed and I just start to cry more. It's 9pm and I hope the kids are finally down, as I said good night to them for the last time, I thought to myself. Only 10 hours before I hear you calling out to me to wipe your little bum. That's not enough time! Doug came home and made dinner so I could go running tonight. It was the first run in a long time that wiped me out. I'm so tired. Never ending.

But I want to keep up the positive thinking...here is what I was grateful for today:
  • Doug making dinner
  • 50 degrees- perfect running weather!
  • Tickling Leah and Sydney together
  • Watching Paige dance, trying to mimic the Nutcracker ballet
  • Playing Disney Princess memory with Leah and Paige and getting slaughtered by both of them. Leah says, "it looks like you are not winning!"
  • Leah's drawing of Mom and Dad in a castle getting married, "because we love each other"
  • Laughing. I was wearing boots today and Doug reminded me of when he walked into a doctor's office and complemented a lady saying, "Nice boots!" her response was, "...oh thanks I just had a baby." It took Doug a while to realize what she thought he said. Why was she so comfortable with that? The perv...
  • Sydney- that cute baby just brings a smile right to my face.

*I realize you're all tired...so I thought you could relate!

Amber, I've been meaning to contact you forever. An email will be coming. But, you've actually been on my mind since I read your post yesterday.

It's so refreshing to read about your struggles to find happiness in your roles and also in the everyday life. I feel that same way all the time. My little Annie Girl is seriously about all I can take and I'm often in tears worried that I've failed. I also feel I struggle to find peace and happiness in my role as a mom. I know it's what I should be doing and the irony is that I really wouldn't pick anything else, but at the same time it's just so stinking hard! I want someone to pay me for my efforts, a bonus wouldn't be bad, and I'd REALLY love the option to call in sick or just take a personal day when the urge/need hits.

Anyway, I for sure didn't mean to make this about me and go on a forever-long rant. My point is that you're so not alone. And THANK YOU for sharing it on your blog. It's brought me peace the last day knowing I'm not alone either.

Much love to you!

I'm crying from laughing about Doug's "Nice Boots" story. Oh my. Hilarious.
AMber, I like you a lot and I like that you cry about laundry, maybe if I did I'd get it done sooner. I hate it!

Amber--You are so wonderful! I hope that things ease up for you a bit. Dave always says that life is about working hard, that's what we're meant to do(At that point I want to kick him in the shin- ha ha). But I realize more and more that it's true. No matter what the time of life is--there are struggles. Keep your chin up!! :)You're doing a great job!!!
p.s. the boots story is SO funny!
