The Triborough is on the left, it's a bridge that connects Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan.
This morning I had a good hour-long run over the Triborough bridge and decided to take "note" of the random thoughts I have. I always think it's so funny where my thoughts go, so here's where they were today...
Music: The only music I've listened to in the past year is stuff like Baby Einstien, Disney, and the like. Thanks to a dear friend, I finally got an iPod, so now good music is a part of my life again. In high school, I dissed my best friend all the time for liking punk. I was a classic rock snob. Confession: most of the music on my running playlist is punk. Thanks to Doug. It's great to run to. The rest is an eclectic mix.
HDTV: (these thoughts came due to the number of HUGE plasmas and HDTV boxes I passed in the trash) I consider this whole thing like I'm being dumped. For most people, even if they don't have the money, it's a priority to update to HD. For us, it's not an option. So it's a sad farewell to 'The Office', 'Bones', 'Biggest Looser', 'House', and some other random shows I catch every once in a while.
"I look like a clown when I run...I don't care." (I'm wearing gray running pants too tight for my own good, black shorts to keep my butter-ball turkey (bum) warm, striped gloves, a big blue running sweater, a different color blue hat)
"Why does this part of the city always smell like one giant (pardon me) toot." This is the word we had to use growing up. And this thought remained in the back of my head for a good 10 min stretch)
"Hi, how you doing?" (as a pass another person, I think to myself: I like you, you're just as crazy as me to be out in windy-22-degree weather doing something you love)
"I have a great husband. I know he'll be happy that I extended my run an extra 20 min. today."
"ummm...that chocolate moose was so worth it last night."

You got yourself some good little thoughts there Akay. So about the music, funny, I never understood why the heck you liked classic rock in HS, but now, I LOVE it. And thank goodness for Hulu to keep up with your fav tv shows, who needs HD anyway?
I love your dedication, you couldn't pay me enough to go running when it's that cold and windy out. You go girl, yeah, you do.
You can come over on Friday's and have a TV fest...bring the kids, and I'll watch them while you watch all your faves (as well as ours) on TiVo. Bring lunch. And dinner.
22 degrees! I'm such a whimp! I have NEVER gone running in 22 degrees.
I love the thoughts!!! Isn't that so running??? Random thoughts--a good tune or two--smells ( I hate running by Pig fat-bacon cooking houses--but I'll take that over a huge toot!)--it's freezing but still loving it, and of course-"crap!, I'm supposed to be home!" Thanks for sharing!
Great thoughts, Amber! I feel like I was on the run with you. I especially liked the "butter-ball turkey bum" reference.
