A Week with Dad
Doug had this past week off and it has been so fun to hang out with him- especially for Leah, she has loved playing with him as well as the extra attention. We decided to take advantage of NYC so we went to the BODIES exhibit, visited the South Seaport, went to Bronx zoo, visited our friends in CT, and hit the beach twice. I'm sad the week is over but I guess school is the reason we're here.
Kind of funny to see this old ship next to a shiny, modern building.
On the Asian Jungle monorail at the zoo- Leah acted like a puppy as it was moving; wind in her hair, panting, etc. They had a lot of cool animals on this tour: elephants, rhinos, tigers, wild boars, endangered Asian horses, and all kinds of deer.
We also had a little BBQ with some friends as a late celebration for Leah's b-day. She devoured her cupcake- or at least the frosting. It was very fun to be able to host more than two people at our house.
The gorilla jungle at the Bronx zoo is awesome. They have four babies right now that were so cute, they kept teasing the older gorillas and running. Leah wasn't as scared of the babies.

How fun to have dad home. That is one of the things that we love the most about Nate's job is that he is home for a week at a time when he is not working.
Our kids love the zoo. Looks like you had a lot of fun. We need to come and visit sometime and you can show us around.
