New York Camping

Our ward had a camp out this weekend and it was so refreshing to get out and enjoy the beauty that Long Island has to offer. It was great and Leah handled it pretty well. Many of our ward members hadn't been camping before so it was fun to be able to experience it with them- I'm pretty sure everyone really liked it.The two in the back are Kelly and Cardon Webb- the couple that lives under us and the one on the right is Jose Lariego.
I love this picture of Leah sporting her camping wear- she actually had a pretty bad face plant right after this, the ground was a little unsteady for her.
This was on the "hike" or walk to the beach- very beautiful!
The beach was along the coast of the Long Island Sound so the water was very calm. Leah walked right in and stayed in for about an hour! Our friends even watched her so that Doug and I could go for a swim together! A lot of people thought it was funny to see a pregnant lady swim; I was loving it.
Along the coast of Long Island. Looks almost tropic huh?
Leah woke up in a great mood. She screamed to hear her voice echo out of the tent window- I don't think others woke up as happy as her. This hat's a little too big but she really liked it.

Wow, so fun!!! I love camping! I wish our ward would do something like that. Or maybe we'll just go ourselves...you've inspired me.

Spencer keeps telling me he wants to go camping. He must have loved the Cedar City trip with you guys. Sidenote - we have that same firetruck. Ours was given to us by a neighbor kid - it's way old. Was yours a handme down too? So funny that I even noticed. Maybe it's because I just picked it up off the floor 10 minutes ago. Love the hat Leah!!
