Summer was just too short. The girls really didn't want to go back, but still there is always excitement associated with going back to school. I just hate going back to the busy-busy schedule.
I love summer with my kids.

The weekend before school started, we took a trip up to Lake Tahoe to take advantage of one last day of summer. We hiked a bit on the Tahoe Rim Trail and then waded at Kings Beach.

And I've always wanted to do this but never seemed to have it together enough.
For FHE the first day, we had a special Back to School Dinner.
We read Oh the Places You'll Go And talked about things to remember for the year, like being a good friend, working hard etc. We gave them a lunch bag with goodies to remember some of the things we talked about.
The girls felt so special. It was a great way to push aside some of the anxious feelings.
