The circus and life lessons

The girls brought home free student tickets with the admission of an adult for the circus. Last minute, we decided to make it a family date night and go. It was a first for all of our girls. Not long into the evening, we realized why they give out those free tickets. They make their money on food, toys, elephant rides, etc.
Here we are, excited to take the kids on a fun outing. Going all out...little did we know it would be an evening of teaching them the value of a dollar and getting a bit of practice and saying "NO."
Doug and I are so baffled at the amount of cash people throw away. Popcorn, icee's, nachos, cotton candy, glow sticks, glow wands, balloons, hats, the list goes on and on. Seriously, every person around us was purchasing multiple things, easily racking up over $100-$200 in merchandise, food, and rides.
It was kind of sad for me to see that so many spoiled kids were crying and complaining to get what they want when really, they should just be happy to be at the Circus! I think our kids either felt very poor or unloved. But that's just how its going to be!

With all that said, we had a great time together and enjoyed the Circus.

Brigham watching the tigers...he LOVED them!

Some kids got to ride the elephants for $10 but not us, we were lucky to see one!
