Aunt Erkel

There is this funny misconception that my family has about the East coast. They think every thing is "close." My mom sent Christmas presents with us for Ryan's family. They live in New Hampshire, which is seven hours away. She sent a birthday present with Karla to give to Doug, she lives in Boston, which is six hours away. It's kind of a joke.  If you go visit one family in the East, you should be able to see every family in the East, right? Not so easy to go back and forth from New England to New Jersey.
This time we were lucky...Erika was in New England and took the bus down to visit us for a few days. With Doug being gone, I had a sleep-over with her every night, we laughed a lot.
She is such a fun aunt, Leah, Paige, and Syd loved every second with her. Sydney even preferred her over me sometimes, which never happens.
She flew out of Newark so we decided to make it a day and visit NYC, well actually to visit Max Brenner's, and we stopped at Chinatown for some purses. I felt right at home in the city. I miss it a lot. With tolls and parking, it ended up being a very expensive trip for our favorite chocolate restaurant.
 It was worth it.

Amen! Erika is the best aunt. Hallie said the day after she left. My favorite part of teh day was playing with Erika. My saddest part of the day was when Erika left. :)

That is so fun you went to NY

Amber ... I know this is a shock, but I've been reading through some of your comments and pictures. I can't believe how beautiful the girls are getting. You can tell them that from their grandpa! Sure love you all. - Dad
