Teaching moments

So tonight Sydney had been screaming/banging/throwing things for over an hour. I was mad, had tried a number of tricks- I was more than mad, I had had it. I put the girls to bed without hugs, books, or stories. I was on the phone venting to Doug and just wanted to walk away from everything.

While doing the dishes I noticed Syd stopped crying.
I went in to say goodnight to the girls and told them they needed to sleep and could now because Syd stopped crying.
Leah said, " Do you know why?"
Curious and still frustrated I asked, "What do you mean?"
Leah- "She stopped crying because Paige and I said a prayer that she could, and then she did!"

Tears immediately filled my eyes. And I walked out of their room feeling worse and defeated.
If I could just "be as a little child."

Wow - sometimes they stop us in our tracks and help us see the bigger picture. Thanks for sharing this. These kids are so full of faith!!!
