So we decided to take a trip out to the beach and Leah announced, "Mom, I like to walk in the sand at the beach." (imagine her saying it like the boy on Christmas story who "loves the Wizard of Oz")
Paige was stoked about the water, can't wait to see if she'll actually like getting in it.
They have a great new park with awesome toys and hasn't been discovered by many people yet, parks here can be so over crowded, it's almost not worth going some times, so we enjoyed this.
Umm...yummy summer food. Leah's giving a shout out to Hawaii as we're about to cut the pineapple.
And another adventure to the Bronx Zoo on free Wednesdays, Doug had a break in the middle of the day so he got to come with us. Loved this picture of Paige- elated to see the camels.
The latest Leahism: "Mom, these chips have fire in them. I like them" (zesty Doritos)

Wow --You guys have been busy!! So fun taking advantage of the days Doug's off etc. Sounds like so much fun--Beachin it and at the park/zoo! So sorry about the sleep issue. I remember the day--it stunketh bad!! I promise -it does fly by though. You're right, the ultimate stall gets really old putting them to bed. I don't know when that ends--hoping soon! Love the update--we are all getting way too excited for you to come! Any second thoughts on the Triathalon here at the end of June?????
Fun! I laughed when I picture her saying it like the Christmas Story kid. Cute pics of your girls. Always impressed that you survive New York!
Your girls are seriously beautiful. Really. And how fun that you live close enough to drive to a beach. Jealous.
fun fun ... good life =) leah looks so much like elizabeth to me!
What a fabulous post! Love the insights into the girls. So much like Liza and Caroline. Uncanny. Someday they'll be friends for sure. Good luck with these next few crazy months. You guys will be great through it all. You're definitely on our minds. Doogie, about the cargo on the roof...cardboard boxes, a tarp and rope has made it back and forth from Mexico for many people. You don't have to store it, it's cheap and replaceable!
First I really like your new hair! Way stylish! And I am jelous you live so close to a beach. Good for you.
Abby calls Doritos hot chips and she likes them too.
