Sleep

So my parents have eight kids. I like to ask my mom a lot of advice and just talk through things since she's got a lot of experience. The other day I asked her when she started to get sleep and she just laughed at me. Sometimes I really dislike a response like that. Doug and I often find ourselves with only 6 inches of sleeping space  because both of our kids have made themselves comfortable in our bed. I know it's totally against everything that people say you should do to instill proper sleeping patterns but sometimes sleep (or whatever you want to call it) is more important, or we're just too tired to listen to the screaming. I know all parents feel this way, but seriously does it ever get better?

It does get better Amber- I think the years of having babies/ toddlers is the hardest sleep wise - but now I have other sleep challenges - insomnia, teenagers etc... I don't think there is a time in life where we EVER get as much sleep as we would ideally like... it's a bummer... But I don't have babies waking me up or sleeping with me anymore, so that is better! Hang in there!

We TOTALLY relate to the multiple kids in bed! Dan often just finds his place on the couch. We keep a sleeping bag permanently on one side of them bed so the kids can crawl in the bag instead of our bed. Gotta love being a parent! It's the best!

My kids both sleep in our bed with Keaka and I. I sneek away in the middle of the night and sleep in my daughters princess bed because I can't stand being kicked.

For a while we put the king matress and the twin next to eachother and rolled our daughter over to it when they fell asleep.

Oh and hummm... yes and no. Last night I was up with my 5 yr old half the night and then my 3 yr old the other half but I'd take a sleepless night once in a while over a newborn baby anyday.

I'm no help am I.
