My mom, Jay, and aunt Susie came to visit for a long weekend. It was very fun and semi-relaxing. They were on the go but were quick to give me a break with the kids. My mom is so great with Leah and Paige, I don't know anyone who can handle them as well as she does when we're not there. Unfortunately, I'm a slacker with taking photos but here are some highlights.
I won the Wicked lottery AGAIN! We have won four times and every time is when Doug isn't there. Doug and I have gone four times for date night and never get it but it seems to work every time someone comes to visit. Jay and Susie hadn't seen it so we gave them the tickets and they LOVED it. Here's Paige and me in the winner's line.
My awesome bro Jay. Just a month until he's on his mission. I think his favorite part was hanging out with Mom and Susie and watching them make a fool of themselves in the city. The last night, we stayed up late talking/catching up- always the most memorable part of the visits. This guy is seriously such a stud.
My mom insisted we get away, and get away we did. It was our first night away from the girls. We went up north to nowhere: Kingston, NY. Close to where Woodstock was. It was so nice to get out of the city. We went swimming twice and acted like kids. Had a GREAT run in the woods, a romantic dinner, and slept in until 8:30!!! I think we could have stayed another week. It was so nice and appreciated. This is the only picture I took- in our hotel room.
While we were away, Mom, Susie, and Jay took the kids to the Ground Zero area one day (and battled the crowd in Century 21 with two strollers- CRAZY) and the Statue of Liberty the next day. They must have had some insane tourists bug to have the energy with the kids.
I met up with everyone after our trip at Times Square. I was so excited to see the girls. I think their first reaction was "don't ever do that again!" Then they both wouldn't let me put them down (this makes for good times in Times Square). This was right before I won the Wicked tickets...good thing we got back in time.
Union Square- I never miss taking visitors to my fav...Max Brenner's, the chocolate restaurant.
Leah was so sad to see them go. When we dropped them off at the airport, Leah said "Mommy. I'm sad. I want to go on the airplane with Grandma and Jay and Susie." We sure miss you guys!

When is it my turn to come visit? I've yet to see Wicked and your pics always look like so much fun. I had no idea Susan came out with your family. How fun!

so nice of your mamma to give you a break. sounds like fun! miss you guys. cant wait for your rotation here in AZ!
How do you guys end up winning 4 times!?!? I love the pictures and I am so glad you guys had a night out! That is great!
I am so glad you got away - that must have been so fun. Did we tell you that my littlest brother got his mission call and he is going to Peru - he leaves July 8th. Your brother will be an awesome missionary - he has patience to put up with two women sightseeing in New York - he'll be able to handle any companion.
It is so much fun to see what you have been up to! I can't wait to see you for a few days in April! Hopefully you can rub off some of your lucky lottery winning on us and we can get cheap tickets to wicked too!
