This past week I went to Colorado to watch my in-laws' kids. They have four, ranging in age from 3-11. It was fun, but very difficult. I gained a lot more respect for every mother and I realized that I need to just enjoy my time with Leah while it lasts, before my family keeps growing. There were so many things I found myself saying that sounded just like my Mom- I guess we all have to admit that we'll turn into our mothers some day (I really love my Mom so it's not a bad thing just funny to hear her in my voice).
The greatest thing was that Leah got to hang out with some of her cousins and they were so great to her; although I think she got sick of them picking her up so w/in two days of being there Leah decided she was a walker. Allie (the 3 year old) was a great friend for Leah and taught her all sorts of things, my favorite being the motions to "The Wheels on the Bus."
Unfortunately I was kind of preoccupied so I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked to but here are a few...

Just a handful of the 40 cousins- a lot of great future baby-sitters!

I love this picture of Leah and her uncle Dave- she really likes him and even trusted him more around the neighborhood dogs than when she was with me. Dave- it's so fun to see you with little kids, thanks for giving Leah some PT!

One thing I loved about Colorado was the daily errands, they seemed so convenient compared to doing them in NYC. Going to the grocery store was actually fun for Leah and allie b/c of these great shopping carts- whoever came up with this idea was a genius!

This is a snapshot from today- back in Queens. Leah was just so moved by General Conference that she got home and went straight for the scriptures. She literally carried them around all day.

CUTE~ I LOVE that picture of Dave and Leah! He came home and said that she was just so cute! Thanks for the shot of the girls too! I wish so much I could have been there! Looks like lots of fun! Ya, going from 1-4 kids overnight would be a little stressful! :0 You're right, enjoy it now!!
Sounds like it was a party -- you know, if you come out to CA you could certainly watch our two orangutangs and Leah's lost twin sister, Princess Liza!
So much blondeness!
And so many girls!
Leah must have loved it.
I'm totally with you on the idea that whoever invented the car shopping carts was a genius.
Leah is so cute. I got the impression from one of your posts that she's doing a little modeling--am I right? She'd be perfect for that.
Sounds like you had quite the eventful week! oh.. I LOVE Colorado. Are you glad to be home?
