I have one question that both Doug and I ask ourselves a lot. Actually every night and I ask myself roughly every thirty minutes...How does anyone with kids get anything done?
I am an organized person, generally do well with time management. I am a focused person. And still I can't seem to get a blasted thing done anymore. Ok, so I can successfully post to my blog, get the dishes done, laundry, etc. But anything above and beyond the simple everyday tasks seems impossible!
I often have so many things I need to do that my mind won't settle down to do the simple things. Take for example this very moment. I'm attempting to write down a list of things I need from the grocery store and tears started running down my cheek because I can't even concentrate! So instead here I am venting about it to someone (?)
Many people say they get the extras done after the kids go to bed. Doug and I must be doing so much wrong. By the time our kids are asleep and no longer fighting bedtime, we do the dishes, check emails, finish folding clothes or tie up loose ends around the house, and it's already 10pm...which is our bedtime because we've got early mornings around here.
Seriously though, how do you do it?

I don't. But sometimes I do. And those are the times when I do a babysitting swap with my friend when I am completely desperate to get things done. I feel your pain!
I only have one, so I have no excuse for not doing much around here, but it is so hard. In the fleeting moments of calm and silence I want to do something for ME, not bother with laundry and dishes..... so my house is a mess about 98% of the time.
We ask ourselves the same question. It really is hard. I think you are doing great by getting some things done after they go to bed. Trent and I usually go right to bed when our kids do....
If you lived close I would have your girls over for some play time so you could get things done....or go for a run. ;)
yikes let me know when you figure it out! I'd love to know!
I don't. I ask myself the same question ALL THE TIME
