Well anyway, here are pictures of my kids, who are growing too fast. I love these girls SO MUCH! I really do wish I could just freeze time.

"Enjoy them while they're young"
I hear "enjoy them while they're young" and "don't let it slip by" and "time flies" etc. etc. and so forth a lot. Honestly, about 90% of the time I want to slap the stranger that is saying it because for some reason, people like to say it when my kids are misbehaving or when I'm obviously flustered. The thing is I know I need to enjoy them while they're young, I know time is slipping by faster than I want it to, but I think I will always hate hearing that. Last week, I was so blessed to spend some time with my great friends from NYC and we talked at length about "mom guilt." I think the reason I dislike hearing these phrases is because of my mom guilt. You see, I know time is slipping by but it is so difficult to enjoy the challenging moments when you really just want to run, and run fast, away from the tantrums and the endless, "Mommy, I'm done mommy" (the cutest little chant my girls sing when they want me to wipe their bums), and the sleepless nights and...you get it. Every time I hear this well-intended reminder, it adds to the guilt. Do you get this guilt? That you're not doing enough with your kids? That they might look back and remember you as a witch rather than a loving mother? Are all moms like this?
Well anyway, here are pictures of my kids, who are growing too fast. I love these girls SO MUCH! I really do wish I could just freeze time.

Well said, Amber. I totally get the mom guilt. I do try to enjoy the small moments but some days it's really hard to see past that day! I just hope my kids grow up to be responsible adults. Is that too much to ask? :)
those dress-ups are classic. I LOVE them!
We ALL have Mom guilt. I think it comes almost the minute a child is born... I am sure in ten years from now I will be wishing I had enjoyed this stage of life more... it's just the way it goes. We do the best we can!! You're doing great! :)
P.S.It was SO AWESOME to see Doug and Dave together last weekend. They had a GREAT time together. It was just what Dave needed! :)
I wish we lived closer to each other. I have so many of the same feelings as you. We could just get together and vent with each other and totaly get it.
People say that to me too, but I just ignore them. I am loving that my kids are getting older and more independent. If things are easier for me, I am happier, therefore the household is happier. We do try to enjoy each stage of life and not worry about the past or speeding up the future. And I did say "try." ;)
