Match day was March 8th and we were informed that Doug didn't end up matching at any of the programs he ranked, it happens. It sucks but it happens. For those students who don't match, you scramble for a position that wasn't filled for whatever reason. Scramble barely describes the process we've been going through. He's been interviewing and doing every thing he can but so far no luck. He interviewed at a program in Philly last week that we were really excited about and they told him he was their #1 pick and definitely eluded to him getting the position but we were crushed again today when they told us they went with someone else. We're waiting to hear back from a couple other places so we'll update when something is final. There are about 30 more students than residency positions so it's pretty competitive now and the clock keeps ticking.
Basically, when I said I'd never want to be a vagabond for seven months again, I'd totally take that over the stress of the past two weeks. I think I've shed more tears in the last ten days than in the last ten years of my life. I've kind of lost the ability to cope with daily tasks so we eat cereal alot and the dirty clothes are spilling out of their baskets. We've had some great friends help with Leah and Paige which has been such a blessing b/c we've been less than desirable parents lately. Anyway, that's the jist of it all. I hope to post with good news soon, and I'm sorry about the "mood" of this post. Things will get better.
Thanks to all of our family and friends for the constant prayers and support.

Oh Amber. So so frustrating and emotional. As a side note, are you sure that there aren't more than 30 students residency-less? It seems like so so SO many didn't get in this year. You're SO not alone.
Man, we need to talk. I still have your number so I'll call you. You'll be in my prayers from here on out.
Love ya!
Tara
Amber - this made my heart hurt! I'm sure everything will work out, but I'm sorry for your frustration now. I would ignore everyone too and I think you are entitled to feel however you want.
I'll pray for you and Doug. I wish I could do something for you.
Hang in there Doxey's! Things will get better. WE are thinking of you guys.
I love you guys! I've been thinking of you, and keeping you all in my prayers. You two are some of the greatest examples of parenthood I have seen.
Don't be too hard on yourself... you'd been riding the hormonal rollercoaster even if everything was perfect.
This too, will pass.
Please let me know if I can do anything for you.
bring your kids and your laundry to my house. i can take care of that. you can go out and be alone or you can stay and veg. and i promise not to ask any questions about placements, moving or feet. we are praying for you!
We love you guys and I want you to know that we are praying for you here on the left coast. Sometimes you just can't catch a break. I think the best things in life certainly don't come easy and I know that you guys have been through so much.
I know that you have great things to come, and that everything will work out... but in the mean time I know that it must suck, Please know that so many people love you and are praying for your family and wanting nothing but success and joy for you all!
