Back in the NYC

We've arrived. Nothing like ending a long journey with a REALLY long journey across the nation. Come to find out, if there is snow/freezing rain in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma, they have no idea what to do. Needless to say we averaged almost 40 mph across those three states and even had a three house stop while they tried to clear some of the ice. It was humorous/sad to watch the progress they made with a back-ho.

We finally pulled in Monday afternoon and have been incredibly blessed with the living arrangements. We really wanted to stay in Astoria, I found a place on craigslist and my great friend Natasha checked it out for me. Amazingly we mostly "sealed the deal" over the phone. Once we got here and were discussing everything with the landlord, Doug felt very impressed to be completely honest with him and explained that we will most likely be leaving in June. I was sure the deal was over but the guy said, ok and offered a month-to-month lease. This is huge! So it's smaller than our other places and parking is hideous (already got a ticket) but we are thrilled! We haven't been able to get stuff from our storage but the past seven months has taught us how to live without all "luxuries".

Sounds like it was a smooth sailing ride across the nation. Glad it was easy. JK. Glad you're back safely.
