I guess I should update

California has come and gone- for me and the girls, that is. Doug is still there until Oct. 30th and we miss him a lot. I'm starting to get real sick of being apart so much but what do ya do?

Cali was fun and difficult, filled with a lot of packing and unpacking (it got kind of old). I can't believe how huge LA is! We had a great time hanging out with Emm and Chad who were so kind to let us stay the weekends with them. Our kids were kind enough to wake up everyone in their building. Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures of all our events b/c my camera battery died and I lost the charger- not a surprise since we're constantly moving. We visited the Getty, Griffeth Park, Disneyland, Santa Monica beach, and did a lot of sightseeing/house seeing around Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Burbank, Bel-Air, etc. And a visit to LA wouldn't be complete without a lot of In-and-Out, DD-Ree's, and of course Trader Joes (how I've missed that place).

Of course we went swimming while at the beach, we were some of the only ones in the water without a wet-suit but it wasn't that bad. It was so fun, I love the ocean. Emm and I saw a Leopard Shark, it swam right between us. We both freaked out, even though it was only about 4 1/2 feet long. It's still scary to see those dorsal fins. I was fortunate to see it/another one again. Crazy!

Anyway, so Doug has learned more things from this externship, they all have different pros and cons. For now, I'm just excited that one more month is almost done. Sunday, we're going back to Fort Collins for the Denver externship, we're excited to hang out with the Cranes again!

Here's some pics I did get.
Griffeth Train Park

My Dad lived in LA and apparently they used to go here a lot, it was fun to play just like he used to.

Disneyland
The celebration parade was so fun. They involved the kids a ton. The girls loved dancing with them, and loved seeing all the characters.
Leah's expression shows exactly how excited she was about Aurora's castle, it was my first time inside.
Cute Paige getting excited about the coming parade.
Their favorite ride by far was 'It's a Small World' they waved at every doll they possibly could.
Toon Town
The longest line we stood in was to see the princesses and it was worth it to see how special Leah felt talking to them. They do a really good job of treating the kids so nice. Leah was in heaven.
Ariel was her favorite. Leah asked where her prince was, apparently he was fixing her lunch in their castle.
Leah and Paige both got to drive the cars, Emm and I both got a little whiplash.
Disney was so decked out for Halloween, especially the haunted mansion. I'm so glad we were able to go at such a fun time of year. Thanks Emm for helping out with the kids.

I love this picture...for many reasons. We walked around the LA temple, the girls love temples we sand 'I love to see the Temple' a couple times, they were very sweet about it.

And just a shout out to the fall here. Doug and I rented some bikes right before we left and enjoyed one more bike ride on the mid mountain trail. I really miss my bike.

I am so glad the separation is almost over. I couldn't do it... you are a trooper. Disneyland in October - can it get any better. Perfect weather and less crowds- I'd think. I wish we could go hang with the Cranes too!! Thanks again for visiting. The girls look so cute in the pics.

I can't believe how much you guys are on the go! I'm tired just thinking about all that moving. It sounds exhausting.

How fun that you got to take your girls to Disneyland. I can't wait 'til Annie is old enough.
