Happiness

I had a GREAT weekend, I used up another Christmas gift that Doug gave me, one of his two (for the whole semester) personal days. I went to Utah ALL BY MYSELF for my brother's mission farewell. My entire family was there except for Doug and our girls so I missed them quite a bit but I still had a blast. It was fun to be able to have actual conversations without interruptions, to get to know my nieces and nephew better, and to sleep through the night. I love my family so much and I'll admit, it made me a bit trunky to go back west. Jay will be an awesome missionary, he is such an example to me. Thanks to my family for such a great time!

I love this guy.
Enjoying a little Aubs and Bobs time at Cafe Rio...yum!
Grandma and Grandpa wanted to give the grandkids a late Easter Egg hunt, it was fun but we had a great time hanging out playing football and enjoying the beautiful weather afterward. I love just chilling.
Robbie thought Grandpa's truck was so cool, so we piled in and took him on a ride. It could have been a ride at Disneyland for him.
We had a bridal shower for a cousin on Friday night, a spontaneous family dance party followed after everyone left. It was a RIOT. We even got Mom and Dad to participate in dance-add-on.

I was too busy to get pictures Sunday but we had a great Thai/Asian cuisine and got to visit with lots of family and friends- it was so great to see everyone.

Doug Turns 31!!!!!

We had a great little celebration. It was so fun for Leah, this is the first time she's been so into birthdays. She asked all day when we would do the 'Happy Birthday Dad surprise.' She helped with the cake, dinner, and buying and wrapping the gifts.

We love our Dad- we couldn't ask for any better!
Leah wanted to light the fire again, and continued to ask all night long.

This just had to be included under the title of happiness.

Happy Birthday Doug!! I am so lame for missing the actual day...
I thought about (at work all morning) and we had talked about it on Sunday dinner with family... we all said we'd call and wouldn't miss it.

Anyway... I did. I hope your day was fabulous.

It was nice to see Amber for a bit, too. You are the greatest!

Much Love,
Dorothy

Ok so this is so funny. After reading you blog just before going to sleep one night I had a dream that my husband and Doug were hanging out (which I'm not sure they ever did) talking about getting some Taco Bell or something and I saw you (Amber). I was so excited because I finally got to meet you in person and ran over and gave you a big hug.

I remember this because I was woken up in the middle of it by my little girl calling me and I remember feeling so happy even thought it was the middle of the night because I had the chance to meet you. It took me a little while to get out of my sleep induced daze and realize ahhh shucks it hadn't really happened.

But anyhow it was nice meeting you none the less. I hope I really do get to meet you in person one day.

I don't know why, I just thought I'd tell you about it.

Oh and tell Doug happy Bday for me.
