The girls and I had such a great time in Utah. It was a great break for me but even more fun to watch as Leah got to know her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. My parents just moved to West Jordan and they have the greatest grandparents house- it was so comfortable and FUN for the kids. Some of the best things for me were to see my younger siblings so much, I've missed so much of their lives, they all impressed me with how grown up they are. And they were so good with Leah and Paige.
Here are some highlights:
Jay was so nice to the girls. This is what every afternoon looked like after Jay came home from work. Of course both the kids got sick (typical) so Paige wasn't very happy the first couple of days but she loved Jay- what's not to love?
I love this picture of Grandma and Grannie Rae with Leah. We went to lunch at Gardner Village, such a cute place.
Four generations.
We were able to catch Mariam's first volleyball game, which was a shut out- GO Mo. My Mom is always making fun of us kids for sticking our tongues out too much in pictures, we're not budging so she's given in.
Isn't that toy room a dream? Leah and Paige loved it and Grandma really helped Leah expand her imagination.
Leah loved that apron. She "irruned" (ironed) it all the time and made me a lot of "peeza"
My Dad, Mariam, and I were lucky to catch the Cougars last home game. Nothing like some spirited football in Provo...I LOVED it!
Mt. Timp (sigh). I visited some of the Doxey crew in Provo. This is one of my in-laws backyard- luckies! My sister-in-law was so nice and watched the girls while I went for a run on the Bonneville Trail, which runs along these hills. Nothing could have made my trip more complete. Thanks again Debbie, I still have the high.
This was the first trip that Leah started to really romp with the cousins. Tom and Brynne are awesome, Leah had a blast.
Brynne even taught Leah some gymnastics.
We got to hang out with Grammie a few days, I think Paige warmed up quite well to her. She even treated us to some great tex-mex, yummy!
Brynne and Paigey girl.
Some of the Doxey ladies went to P.F. Chang's for an early celebration of Grammie's b-day. In honor of Doug and I we just had to order the 'Great wall of Chocolate.' Ridiculous story but basically Doug and I broke up a lot and it seemed to be planned. So we'd either go get some lettuce wraps and this delectable cake or go mt. biking and then hit up Magelby's Fresh for some good breakfast. I'm just glad we're together and we can enjoy both of those things without the sad ending. After all the ladies tried it, they figured we broke up on purpose just for the cake.
Dorothy, Leah, Debbie, and Grammie. Hanging out yet again with great food.
We sure had fun and we really miss everyone. Leah remembers almost everyone's name! To all those not pictured, it was fun hanging out. We look forward to the month next year doing externships in Utah (September) and hope to catch more of you.
