A Good Day

Leah and I went to the Bronx Zoo with some of the people from our playgroup. It was fun to see how excited- and nervous- Leah was about the animals, but the point is she noticed them. We went today because Wednesdays are free for general admission, can't beat that. To be quite honest, it was probably one of the worst days we could have picked because it got up to 97 and it was extremely humid. Basically we were soaked all day, this made for some cranky kids but it was still fun. Natasha Brenchley and I walked home from the train station together and were talking about how nice it would be to get rain, as the forecast said it would. Of course w/in minutes it started to sprinkle which felt good but, as typical New York rain storms go, it began pouring on us. We put our rain shields over the strollers and just walked in the rain. It was fun to be pretty much the only ones who weren't trying to avoid getting wet...I can say I don't think I've ever enjoyed rain so much. I even took off my sandals and walked home bare-foot. Very cliche but I felt like a kid again- good memories. So, to this I say next time it rains- enjoy it!
