4th of July

We are rarely in Reno over the 4th of July so we don't have any traditions set in stone.
I think we found some traditions this year...we loved the small town Truckee parade, then hiked to 3 lakes. We ended our day with the perfect BBQ at the McCombs house with good friends. We didn't have the best viewing of fireworks so we'll have to figure that out next time. It was a great day to celebrate our country, the independence and freedoms we enjoy.

I wanted to record some thoughts from a talk on Sunday. Emily Orgil spoke about Independence Day. Here are some highlights that I wanted to remember:
- Does our love for our country go beyond wearing red, white, and blue on the 4th and simply declaring that I love this country.
- What do we do to SHOW our love for our country. Volunteer, vote, run for office?
- Just because we may not agree with who is in office doesn't mean that we should be negative about our country, part of supporting our country is being positive.
- We can improve our country by showing love and supporting one another.
