Reno balloon races

Reno has a lot going on from Spring to Summer. It's so fun to have events almost every weekend. This year we are experiencing it all for the first time but all the locals enjoy it just as much every year.
The air balloon races were so much fun!

Doug and the girls went Friday morning to the sunrise event, where they light all the balloons before sun rise. I guess they were a bit cold and the girls complained but as soon as the balloons started popping up, they loved it. I couldn't even think about getting myself out of bed due to morning sickness. After they came back with all the excitement and details, I was determined to make it to the actual race event with the family the next day. Always so nice to get out of bed and it was awesome!

The even began with a fly-over fallen solider formation, as one of the fighter planes veered off, I couldn't hold back the tears, thinking of my Grandpa, and so many others who served in the air force, and those who lost their lives. It was very touching.

The two balloons top, center are kissing fish- the girls' favorites.
