A while ago, Doug and I had to go to Reno for business so we worked it around my Mom's availability. It was the longest we have been away from our kids and I honestly say I didn't worry one bit...Grandmas really are the best!
We left the first full week of school, which also happened to be the week that Leah decided school wasn't really her thing. My wonderful mother waited outside the school one morning for more than an hour until Leah decided (or realized Grandma wasn't going to budge) to go into school without kicking and screaming. I hope to have the patience my Mom has some day.
She doted on Paige, teaching piano, ballet, and tap. Doing "school", coloring, and all sorts of activities.
She bonded with and earned Sydney's trust- which can be very difficult.
She taught and disciplined my girls and also strengthened their relationship so much.
The night we got home, she asked if we wanted to go on "one last date."
I love my Mom and love when we get to spend time with her.
Her last day, we headed into Philly to explore new sights, my Mom is always up for an adventure and ready to go at any given moment. We decided on the Betsy Ross House, which was awesome. Then headed to Elfreth street, the oldest residential street in the US. And in true Jensen-style had to make a mad dash to the airport.
We were all so sad to see her go.

Had to capture this picture, since it really was my Mom really trained Leah to go to school without crying.

Elfreth Alley, so quaint!
Betsy Ross herself. This lady was fantastic!

Grandmas are the best. I always worry that my mom will forget something or not do something they way I told her but then I remember that she raised 7 kids herself!! They are so much more patient. Do you think we will finally learn patience when we are grandmas?!?!
Miss you guys.
