24-hour friends? I'll take it!

I will be missing my high school reunion this next month, it would be fun to go but I'm not too bent out of shape over it. This last week I actually got to have one of my high school friends, Tara (Phelps) Huish, and her family stay with us and it was way better than any reunion. Tara's husband is in his fourth year of podiatry school and is doing an externship rotation at Doug's residency program for the month of August (oh so glad that stage of our education is behind us). So he's with us for the month- no amount of convincing kept the whole Huish posse with us the whole month, we'll take what we can get.

Tara and I, and our kids, who are all very similar in ages, had a blast. It was so fun to catch up, laugh, reminisce, parent together, have someone do my dishes, have someone watch my girls so I could run and go shopping (okay so I think I totally took advantage of her), it was just a hoot. The last couple of days have been a bit rough without them.

The good thing is that I actually took more pictures, since I'm always so bad at it.

  • Grocery shopping...we were a sight. The seafood lady was very sweet to turn it into an educational experience for all.

  • BJ's (our Costco)- always fun. Tara turned it into story time. The babes took their afternoon naps. And Leah and Gene scored their kindergarten backpacks (great deals and cute), they wore them around the whole store and started filling them as soon as we got home. What an exciting time!

  • Playgroup- a little rough on the get-go but turned out to be quite the building adventure. I think we left a few shelters for birds, bugs, and any other creature at the park.

  • Hanging out at home- school, story time, lots of coloring, forts, tea-parties (yes, boys enjoy them too), pizza and movie night, and good ol' playing hard!

  • We also made it to the Cherry Hill children museum, Wheaton Art Village, and swimming in between but my camera battery died (funny that I didn't have my camera for the more exciting things). Do you think I showed them a good enough time to convince them they should move here? It's debatable, but it sure would be a dream come true.
Thanks for visiting...we miss you!

(well we don't really miss James, he's asleep upstairs...you get it)

ohhhhh I'm soooo jealous!!!! I don't know if I could pick friends I'd rather spend a crazy week like that with. I hope that doesn't come off as a huge diss to all my other wonderful friends. I love you all.

Oh, I LOVE all those pictures, and LOVE you:) I could write a whole blog post writing about all the untrue things you said about "taking advantage" of me:) Let me just tell anyone whose reading this that Amber made EVERY DELICIOUS meal, cleaned up after us, let us sleep in, let us eat all her food, and let us trash her house, and OH so much more. Go visit her. You'll get quite a vacation out of it:) Truly missing you. That week was a bit of heaven. We loved NJ thanks to you guys:) Love you!
