When I set this goal, I was waking up before Doug left for school (most days) and gleefully "sprinting" my five or six miles and I loved every second of it. I'm barely crawling through my mid-week runs and not loving it so much anymore, this is sad for me. I've been a "real runner" for over ten years and it's the first time I've felt this way. I'm sticking to my goal but I think I'm in need of some serious advice. Anything!
Oh, and for the record I think I've decided I'm sticking with 1/2 marathons and triathlons from here on out.

I think we have seriously reversed roles. I'm going to be the runner now and you will be the stay at home crafty person.
Sorry your motivation is gone. Maybe it will be back when you are in UT at Grandma's house!
oh Amber. You are tough little cookie. If I know anything about you, and I think maybe I do, I know that anything you put your mind to you do with gusto, and I'd be wicked shocked if this ended up anything short of that.
That being said, I think sticking to the 1/2s and triathalons is a great idea, but I think marathons are just plain nuts.
Triathlons are where it's at!! Crosstraining. I just don't believe a body is meant to run that much. Try getting on your bike 2 days a week. You'll still get plenty of cardio, but give your legs a break from the pounding, and come back stronger, and more excited to run. You could even pull the girls with the trailer.
Good luck with the goal. You can do it!! If you ever plan a tri, I'd love to do that with you!
Even though I think Marathons are nuts and psychotic I know you can do it and look up to you so much for being psycho. How is Doug's training... or does he even need it?
I have NO advice on running is I will never be a "real runner", but I have to say that I'm 100% impressed with your drive. Really. I admire anyone who will get up and get some excercise.
GO AMBER!!!
You're one of the reasons I started running - you're very inspiring.
I have no words of advice for your seeing how I don't even think about thinking I want to run a marathon. I am so impressed you signed up for one to begin with. AND I am jealous that you are still able to run, even though you don't enjoy it at the moment. I haven't been able to run for a month and I am getting very depressed about it. Just keep up the training and I am sure you will be glad you did it!
You are the reason I started running too (and Erika). It is such a sacrifice to run when you have such little ones (lately I run around 6 ish. I am training for a full in December, and I know how you feel. I agree with your sis-in-law. Bike for longer distances to get the cardio, but switch it up. I don't know why I feel pushed to do it, actually I do. I want to run one more full and get a better time, then I will just do halfs/tris. I work better under pressure of 'training for a race I paid for'. You are the best!
First of all, you have changed DRASTICALLY in altitude and climate. Your runs feel a lot more grueling because of that, I am sure. Especially after your body getting used to as many miles as you wanted to run. Let your body adjust to that. It may take a little while, but it will adjust.
Second of all, running a full marathon feels like 10 TIMES the feat of a half. You will NOT regret it. And a week later, you will find yourself saying, "I can't wait to do that again."
Hey you know I think my sis in law and your sis in law are good friends. My sis in law is Natalie Brown and she lives in Ft. Collins and is her name Cosette?
K, did I tell you about the poly vogue site? Who is Britt? I am having a major brain shut down becuase I dont remember how you would know, except for I told my sis in law in Ft. Collins! K, IT IS AWSOME! Just go to Wallmart and send a money gram at the customer service. The jeans are awsome, and for $20...great. And I got a cute Juicy coat and my friend has gotten coach bags and they are great. Anyhow, I think you should try it! Oh I told NAdia about it maybe she told Brittany???
Oh and it is reliable. I cant remember what I used but just go to Walmart's customer service it may have been western union? Now I cant remember and ask Cosi if she knows Natalie.
I always wanted to run a marathon to keep up with everyone. My friends do it... my uncle and cousins, Im the only lame-o who doesnt, but I just cant get myself to do it. My advise: pick it up again once life settles (aka: your not movin around) Enjoy life a little ... kick back and eat some goodies =) LOL
i thought you were running it to prove yourself to me.

You are amazing and will do so well. If really want advice try some Isagenix. Even just the shakes restore a lot of protein and blah blah blah it just seems to help.
Thats awesome! We are signed up to run a 1/2 marathon that same day, and I'm having serious motivation trouble as well this year. I don't know what it is, but I've been struggling with the running too. I've already paid my money (as I'm sure you have) so I'll just do what I can. Good luck!!!
